Prestige Mustang is the World’s Largest Antique to Late Model Mustang Only Recycling Facility. Started in Atlanta in 1983 in the spare bedroom of a duplex, Prestige Mustang has since expanded their operations to a 29,000-square-foot building in Monroe and hopes to expand another 15,000 square feet in the next year. Prestige Mustang offers a full service mail order supply of new-old stock, early and late model, as well as rare antique Mustang parts – the business’s specialty. Todd Welborn, president and CEO of Prestige Mustang, has had an obsession with the Ford Mustang since his first ride in a 1969 MACH 1, at just 15 years old. Since then, Welborn has started a personal collection of 23 antique Mustangs that stay in his garage. Welborn says, “There’s no alarm clock needed to wake me up for work. I love what I do, and as the old saying goes, ‘If you love what you do, you’ll never work another day in your life.’ “We have an efficient, high-tech, salvage facility, not a junk yard. If you were to drive by our facility, you’d never know the amount of parts that are on the property.” Welborn takes pride in having all of the vehicles that are on the property in the car graveyard completely drained of all oils and gases in order to make as little impact on the surrounding environment as the business can. Welborn and his staff are proud to be in Monroe after many years of business in Clarkston. “It took us 7 months, working around the clock, seven days a week, to complete the move. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but after moving here and being closer to where I live in Loganville, I’m so happy here,” Welborn said. Since the move to Monroe, Welborn and his staff have been a part of local car shows in Monroe and worked alongside deputies to give them a break when it comes to fixing up their personal Mustangs. “We love the small-town feel, the people and we are so happy to be apart of this community,” said Welborn. Welborn continued to express his love of the Ford Mustang and how great it is to get orders in that pertain to multiple generations of cars within the same family. “The 2015 and 2016 models are continuing the legacy. People who fall in love with that body type will be able to, years from now, restore it and they can get all of their parts here,” said Welborn. Prestige Mustang is located at 785 Adamson Drive in Monroe.
